I had a lot of fun presenting some of my WebVR-related research at the Expanding Immersive Design conference in Zurich, late last year. The recording of my session – where I demoed v1 of Vrok-It – is now online:
It was very different conference for me: it was held at ZHdK - the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste, Zurich’s Fine Arts University – and so was inevitably more focused on design as it relates to VR (as opposed to VR as it relates to design, where I’m more focused ;-). But I think my session helped expand the topic of immersive design, at least.
There were some really cool presentations – a few of which I unfortunately had to miss due to a meeting at ABB – and thankfully they’re now mostly available online and more are being posted by the day. Here’s a YouTube playlist where you can see them all (there’s a great one by an engineer from Google on how to build your ideal VR room… I’m looking forward to watching that one again once it’s been posted).
I’m a little sad I’ll be missing the next edition of this fun conference – it’s being held in November, so I’ll be somewhere in South East Asia – but with any luck the sessions will be recorded and posted, once again.
